Taking a break from the bustle of work and day to day responsibilities isn’t is always as easy as it may seem. Dreaming of a getaway without traffic snarls or an airport pat down? Lakehouse Hotel and Resort is one of San Diego’s best resorts, nestled on the shores of secluded lake San Marcos.

Known as the “Capital of Craft”, San Diego is home to over 130 breweries, many of which are nearby. One of the most established and respected is Lost Abbey/Port Brewing. With 42 beers on tap which are all brewed on-site, you are sure to find a favorite.

One of the newest breweries in the area, Wild Barrel Brewing, is making interesting sours and bourbon barrel aged beers.

It’s good to note that while most of these breweries don’t have restaurants, they’re frequented by food trucks.

6pm
Head over to Tap In Tavern at St. Mark Executive for casual fare and trivia night. Finish off the night fireside with your s’mores kit.
